Learning Center

Philosophy

What I do in the Learning Center is based on Romans 12:6a “We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.”  I am privileged to be able to work with students of all age levels that have each been blessed with different God-given abilities.  I try to meet them at their own level and help them to progress at their own rate.

Students served in Previous Years

I typically work with about a dozen students in grades K-8. The subjects in which I offer help include math, reading, spelling, language and writing. I also work with advanced students when I have time slots available.

What I do

Observe in the regular classroom to see where a student is in need of help

Teach classes one on one or in small groups at a slower pace

  Read tests orally

Help modify classroom work for students with special needs

Help parents to address specific learning needs at home

  Help administer standardized tests

Present Goals

To work with teachers on evaluating the needs of students.

To increase the number of students served in the Learning Center.

To work with students in the lower grades and catch learning delays sooner.

To plan for a future gifted/talented program.

If you think your child is in need of Learning Center assistance, I encourage you to talk to your child’s teacher or to me. I can be reached at 414-422-0320, ext. 134 or 262-797-0669.
